Today, the Executive Mayor of the ZF Mgcawu District Municipality continued the emergency water distribution programme in Kakamas, in the Kai !Garib Municipality . She was joined by the ZFM Speaker, Cllr Stanley Peterson, along with Cllr Saal (Ward 4) and Cllr White (Ward 3) as part of the District’s daily commitment to reach as many households as possible during this crisis.

Despite our limited resources, the District Municipality is doing everything possible to provide water to affected communities until the local municipality has the situation under control. We are fully aware of the scale and urgency of this crisis, and we are working to distribute water as far and as wide as we can each day. This is not a once-off intervention, we will continue to deliver water daily, expanding our reach to ensure that no household is left behind during this difficult period.

Together, we remain committed to restoring dignity, supporting our communities, and standing with residents of Kai !Garib until stability is restored.
